NB Liquor celebrates 20 years of the World Wine & Food Expo
NB Liquor will turn Moncton's Agrena Complex into the province's largest wine boutique when the 20th World Wine &
Food Expo opens on Friday, Nov. 5
NB Liquor has sourced 389 brands of wine from 13 countries to showcase at this years Expo.
"The 20th anniversary is a major milestone for the World Wine & Food Expo and for NB Liquor," said Daniel Allain,
president and chief executive officer, "This is one of the best years for selection and value, as more than 220 of the
brands are priced at less than $20. So, whether you are a connoisseur or enjoy the odd glass, there is something for
everyone at this year's Expo."
The onsite NB Liquor store will house approximately 50,000 bottles of wine consisting of 216 red, 117 white, 38 sparkling,
six rosé, six dessert, five ports. Eighty per cent of these products will be sampled for the first time in New Brunswick.
Every brand featured at the Expo will be available for sale at the onsite store.
The expo will feature 42 Wine Excellence Award (WEA) winners, including White and Red Wine of the Year as well as
Dessert and Sparkling Wine of the Year. The judging for the 2010 WEA was held in February at NB Liquor's head office.
NB Liquor is once again the transportation sponsor for the Expo. The Away Safe service will provides festival goers with complimentary bus service between downtown Moncton and the Coliseum. "NB Liquor is proud to support this important community event and encourages everyone attending the grand tastings to enjoy responsibly and plan their return home in advance," said Allain.
