NB Liquor supports Safe Grad activities

NB Liquor has donated $20,000 to 18 high schools to support their Safe Grad activities through the agency's fourth
annual Safe Grad contest. Honours were awarded to:

Fredericton High School; Fredericton, NB
Polyvalente W.-Arthur-Losier; Tracadie-Sheila, NB
North and South Esk Regional High School; Sunny Corner, NB
Sugarloaf Senior High School; Campbellton, NB
École Marie-Gaétane; Kedgwick, NB
Cité des Jeunes A.-M.-Sormany; Edmundston, NB
Leo Hayes High School; Fredericton, NB
Tantramar Regional High School; Sackville, NB
Polyvalente Roland-Pépin; Campbellton, NB
La Polyvalente Louis-J.-Robichaud, Shediac, NB
Polyvalente Thomas-Albert; Grand Falls, NB
École Sainte-Anne; Fredericton, NB
Cambridge Narrows Community School; Cambridge, NB
Kennebecasis Valley High School; Rothesay, NB and

All 18 schools received funding for their Safe Grad activities.
"We are extremely pleased to see the quality and the talent in the submissions created for the competition," said
Daniel Allain, president and chief executive officer, NB Liquor. "The message that celebrating high school graduation
can be done in a safe and secure way is clearly getting through to our youth."
The Safe Grad contest is open to all New Brunswick high schools and alternative education sites. It offers students
the opportunity to create and deliver a message about making responsible choices when celebrating high school
graduation.
This year, schools were required to present submissions in a video, brochure, PowerPoint or song format. The
submissions had to convey appropriate messaging associated with teens and high school graduation celebrations.
Each school was eligible to receive a cash prize to be used toward 2011 Safe Grad celebrations. Entries were
evaluated on content, originality, theme, marketability and potential impact on awareness.
The top five submissions from Riverview High School, Nackawic High School, École L'Odyssée, Fredericton High School
and Polyvalente W.-Arthur-Losier are on the NB Liquor website.
